Easy to manage

You can view your loan balance or make repayments whenever you want to in Internet Banking.

Increasing your existing loan amount

If you have an existing BNZ Advanced Personal Loan and want to increase the loan amount, you can:

  • apply for a separate Advanced Personal Loan;  or
  • apply to combine your existing Advanced Personal Loan and a new loan into one consolidated loan (minimum new lending amount of $1,000 and a maximum combined limit of $30,000 applies).

If you consolidate your loans, you’ll need to make sure that you apply for enough money to cover the repayment of your existing loan in full, and the total cost of the new loan^

A loan facility fee may apply to both options.

Tips and guides

What to think about before you borrow

Most New Zealanders borrow money at some point during their lives, so if you’re thinking about taking out a loan or other credit facility like a credit card or overdraft, it’s a good idea to look at all your options and the information available so you can make an informed decision.

Prioritising your debt repayments

It can be awkward asking friends and family for advice about our personal finances, which is why it can be equally difficult to know just how to manage your debt and what to pay back when.

Personal loans help and support

If you don’t have access to banking online or would like to discuss your personal loan options, call our team at 0800 800 667.

Lending criteria apply. Advanced Personal Loan interest rate is variable and subject to change at any time, including after you enter into your contract. BNZ will publicly announce any changes to the variable rate.

Applicants must be aged 18 years and over and be a NZ resident. Available to individual personal banking customers only. A loan facility fee of $50 may apply.

You have up to 21 days to draw down your loan after it’s been approved. Interest will only be charged from the first day of the loan term.
