If your credit card is lost or stolen, let us know immediately on 0800 735 901. If you’re overseas, use a landline and call +64 4 473 5901. We also recommend putting a temporary block on your card, until you receive your replacement card.
Realising you have been scammed can be a shock and cause anxiety. We take reports of scams seriously and will start investigating immediately.

We focus on fund recovery and getting that process started as soon as possible. Our dedicated fraud team work 24 hours a day, seven days a week and manage each report on a case-by-case basis.
Scams can be complex and investigations can take time. If you have given out account information or account access to someone else, it can be difficult to recover funds. You are your best protection against scams.
Use a phrase of two to four words or unique numbers as it’s easier to remember than a complex string of letters and symbols.
Scammers hide fake sites behind links. Hover over a link to confirm where they lead before clicking on them.
Keep your devices locked, never leave them unattended, and don’t allow web browsers to save your passwords.
Keep track of the common emails, text messages, or calls made by scammers pretending to be from BNZ.
